There are a couple of important things you should keep in mind when choosing a London-based wedding photographer:
First of all, you want to make sure that both the photographer’s style and her vision for a wedding match your own ideals.
Secondly, before deciding on a wedding photographer, you should get to know the person behind the camera (meeting her in person beforehand is always preferable). You want to make sure her personality will put you at ease and make your wedding day more enjoyable. Keep in mind that she will be with you and your family all day long!
It’s important that your photographer be someone who makes you feel comfortable, who understands your personal boundaries, who appreciates all the hard work you will put into planning your wedding and who will rejoice with you on your most special day.
My Style and Vision
First and foremost, you need to know that I am a natural-light photographer. I love light and I look for it in every click of the shutter. Good light will always turn a beautiful moment into an amazing photograph. Because of this, I highly recommend brightly-lit venues and outdoor photo sessions, especially towards sunset.
I like to describe my shooting style as relaxed, romantic & mostly-documentary. What does that mean? Well, it means that for most of your wedding day I will be capturing the best, most natural moments as they unfold without getting in your way. But it also means that, when appropriate (usually during the photo session and wedding preparations), I will give you some artistic direction. The results will always look fresh, natural and candid, with a romantic twist.
My vision for every wedding is to tell its unique story; the story that starts with the pensive moments of preparation, leading into the ceremony that binds you together and your first kiss as husband and wife, the peaceful moments after the ceremony you steal for yourselves as newlyweds before the excitement of the reception begins, with its food, its toasts, its dancing and all the celebrating! These fleeting moments are surrounded by details that you have worked so hard to bring together: invitations, shoes, the wedding dress, your rings, table decorations and countless others. Together all of these elements form the story of your wedding day and I always aim to tell the entire story.
One of my favorite things about being based in London is that it gives me the opportunity to interact with lots of different people from many cultural backgrounds. As a ‘people person’, I thrive on meeting new people and learning their stories. As a photographer, I thrive on translating those stories into photographs that will last a lifetime. I’ve learned over the years that I can really only achieve this by getting to know my couples well, by being close at hand on your wedding day not just as a photographer, but also as a friend. Many of my former clients have now become good friends, and I love to keep in touch with them, to watch their families grow and to celebrate their accomplishments in life.
I truly love people; I don’t think I can stress that enough!
